From the success of the first, Disney Channel is making a sequel to Teen Beach Movie, Teen Beach Movie 2.
According to Orlando Sentinel, Disney Channel has announced that production for Teen Beach Movie 2 will begin in July and premiere on Disney next year:
"The audience response to the first 'Teen Beach Movie' was overwhelming," said Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer, Disney Channels Worldwide. "We are thrilled to have the cast back for a new music-driven saga that continues this fantastical story."
The entire cast of the movie should be back for the second movie including: Maia Mitchell ("The Fosters") as McKenzie, Ross Lynch ("Austin & Ally" and Hollywood Records' R5) as Brady, Grace Phipps ("Baby Daddy") as Lela, Garrett Clayton ("The Fosters") as Tanner and John DeLuca ("Twisted") as Butchy.
The Teen Beach premiered last summer and reached number 2 as cable TV's most total viewed movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The sound track reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200 list.
Star of Teen Beach Movie, Ross Lynch, was down for the sequel right after the first premiered: "Absolutely, we're all down for a sequel."
The movie plans on being a hit just like the first and Teen beach Movie fans cannot wait.
