A family in south Texas claims to have captured an infamous, mythical creature called the Chupacabra.

According to KAVU, Jackie Stock said that her husband spotted and caught the strange looking animal on their property Sunday night.

Legends about the Chupacabra have been around for decades and although there has never been any concrete evidence that the animal actually exist, some believe that it inhabits parts of the Americas. The creature is thought to be hairless, with long claws, big teeth and feeds off of the blood of goats.

The family is certainly not the first to say that they have encountered such an animal. They are not even the first in south Texas who have made such a claim this year.

ABC News reported that in February, a man thought that he had shot and killed a Chupacabra.

Most of the sightings turn out to be hairless raccoons or animals with a skin disease called mange.

However, Stock and her family said they are certain it is not a raccoon because what they are keeping in a cage has a ferocious growl. The Ratcliffe residents said they are seeking confirmation from experts for the creature’s identity.

Until it is confirmed though, the Chupacabra falls in the category with Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster.
