A Special Education teacher in Texas has been arrested for sexually forcing herself on a student.
According to The Huffington Post, Saralyn Gayle Portwood, 30, was a Special Education teacher at Princeton High School when a 17-year-old student, who was not enrolled in the Special Education program, caught her attention earlier this year.
The teen reportedly rebuffed Portwood’s advances and told her he was not interested several times, but she was undeterred. The teacher reportedly would brush up against the boy, compliment him inappropriately, and even text him to ask him why he was treating her so poorly.
According to Dallas News, the situation came to a head when Portwood reportedly called the student into her office and pushed him against a desk. She then pulled down his pants and performed oral sex.
Portwood, a married mother of one, had been teaching in her district for less than a year at the time of the incident.
Portwood was arrested April 17, but released on $10,000 bond that day. She faces felony charges for forcibly performing oral sex on a minor, which could land her in jail for up too 20 years.
