Let me just not take a selfie. The White House is considering banning all selfies taken the president of the United States.
After taking what appeared to be a spur of the moment picture by Boston Red Sox David Ortiz last week with President Obama the photo has surfaced as a public relations act designed by Samsung, reported the N.Y. Daily News.
What an honor! Thanks for the #selfie, @BarackObama pic.twitter.com/y5Ww74sEID

The Boston Red Sox were being honored at the White House after becoming the 2013 World Series Champions when the photo was taken. It has now been revealed that Ortiz has a marketing deal with Samsung for his Galaxy Note 3 phone and had figured out a possible plan for how to “share images with fans” of the event. As a result Samsung thanked Ortiz via twitter thus possibly using the president to promote their product, reported The Christian Science Monitor .
“Someone who uses the President’s likeness to promote a product…that’s a problem with the White House. We’ve had conversations with Samsung about this and have expressed our concerns,” said White House Senior Advisor Dan Pfeiffer on Face the Nation.
The picture was tweeted by Ortiz and received more than 38,000 retweets in addition a retweet by Samsung.
