This past week Dreamworks released the second trailer for the much anticipated animated sequel How To Train Your Dragons 2. The first film became a huge success around the world grossing nearly $500 million and was nominated for two Academy Awards.
This next installment takes place five years after the first. After bringing together Vikings and dragons Hiccup and his faithful pet, Toothless, fly around discovering new parts of the world. The pair winds up discovering a secret dragon cave that is the home to the mysterious Dragon Rider. The trailer doesn’t hide the secret that this rider is the mother of Hiccup. She teaches Hiccup that there is much more to learn about dragons than he thought.
Now there is a new group of evil Vikings that are trying to take control of all of the dragons. Hiccup must gather up the troops to fend off the villainous Drago
There are many more dragons in this film ranging in all different sizes. Some are small and cute and others are larger than ships.
The tone and jokes seem to be of the same vain as the first one which will probably result in another big hit, especially considering there is already a third movie in the works.
Many familiar voices return to reprise their roles including Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Jonah Hill, America Ferrera and Kristen Wiig. They are joined by new comers Cate Blanchett and Djimon Hounsou.
The movie is being released on June 13th.
