Twins discovered in home had been dead for years

Authorities said that identical twins discovered sitting side-by-side in their Chattanooga, Tenn. home had likely been dead for years.

According to WMC, police found 63-year-old twins Anthony and Andrew Johnson's badly decomposed remains sitting in recliners in their living room.

The grim discovery was made when officers went to the house over the weekend to check on the twins’ wellbeing.

WRCB reported that investigators believe that the twin brothers may have actually been dead since 2011. The hunch comes from the condition of the remains and a time-stamped receipt sitting next to some cans of unopened Coca-Cola

After the news broke, neighbors were left wondering how the deaths went undetected for so long.

“I heard one of them got sick and went to the hospital so I figured the other one moved in with a family member,” one neighbor said. “I didn’t know that they were inside the home.”

Both of the men were suffering from diabetes.

Police do not suspect foul play at this time, but the deaths remain under investigation.
