In a case of how the heck did this even happen, US Airways is apologizing to its customers for an outlandish tweet.
According to the Business Insider, US Airways sent out a tweet on Monday with a photo of a completely naked woman on her back with a toy plane between her legs.
Moreover, the extremely graphic tweet remained up on the company’s Twitter account for almost an hour.
The New York Daily News noted that when the pornographic tweet was finally deleted it was replaced with an apology.
"We apologize for an inappropriate image recently shared as a link in one of our responses. We've removed the tweet and are investigating."
The tweet was an apparent response to a customer who was tweeting about being uphappy that her flight was delayed. The tweet was undoubtedly an embarrassment for US Airways and certainly did not cheer the customer up, which is why it remains a mystery that something like that was tweeted out at all.
The airline has responded to several news outlets stating that it is still looking into the incident.
