Actress Valerie Harper is being sued by playwright Matthew Lombardo for not revealing that she had brain cancer.

TMZ exclusively reports that Lombardo and the producers of his Broadway play Looped are suing Harper for $2 million. In the lawsuit, they claim that in 2012 Harper deliberately didn't tell them that her cancer had return because she wanted to keep her job. Lombardo and the producers knew something was wrong when Harper started to forget her lines and slur her speech during rehearsals. Lombardo says the director of the play advised that Harper go see a doctor. Harper went to go see the doctor and she then found out that her lung cancer had spread to her brain.

According to Lombardo, Harper had to leave the play because of health reasons and left him searching for a acceptable replacement to take over for her. During, that time Harper was told she only had five months to live. Lombardo asserts that the disruption cost him $500,000. In addition, he wants $1.5 million to punish Harper for her awful misdeeds. Lombardo's lawsuit comes after Harper filed one against Lombardo stating that he didn't pay the remainder of her contract even though she was ill.

Recently, Harper denied reports claiming that she was cancer free. TV Guide reveals how Harper released a statement saying, "In response to a recent erroneous quote concerning my health, I am not 'absolutely cancer-free."
