After Kim Kardashian and Kanye West were thrown shade for their April Vogue cover, we are now learning that the couple took the place of Kate Upton, and the writer of Upton’s feature is not happy with the decision.

Accroding to the NewYorkPost.com, the feature writer, Jonathan Van Meter, took to Facebook to reveal how he felt about the Kimye cover story.

“After getting bumped from the cover of April Vogue for Kimye and finding out only once it hit newsstands, I think I have earned the right to post this little bit of frothy praise,” Van Meter wrote.

The writer then posted a review of the issue by the blog Magazine Review calling Kim and Kanye’s cover story “entertaining,” but saying the feature on Kate is the “jewel” of the issue.

According to E! News, a source close to Kate said the model never expected to be on the cover.

“We are all huge supporters of Kate here at Vogue and have been thrilled to feature her numerous times in the past year…there was never a cover commitment made to Kate,” Hildy Kuryk, Communications Director at Vogue said when asked about the cover swap.
