The retail giant that sells everything from produce to bedding is now set to offer affordable auto insurance, the company announced on Wednesday.

According to USA Today, Walmart will be partnering with AutoInsurance.com. A price-comparison website that will allow consumers to compare its quotes with the quotes of several other insurance companies including Progressive, Safeco and Travelers.

CNN noted that the retail stores will not sell auto insurance, however, online shoppers can click a link on walmart.com or go to AutoInsurance.com directly to receive a quote.

"This is something Walmart had been studying and hearing a lot from their customers on," said Daniel Eckert, senior vice president of services at Walmart. "As we started to investigate what was out there in the marketplace, there was no simple, accessible, transparent way to do auto insurance."

Walmart will market and promote the site as it brings one-stop shopping to the area of auto insurance.

The service has already been made available in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas.
