Whoopi Goldberg’s first column for the Denver Post’s The Cannabist section has been published and, as expected, the actress is overwhelmingly positive about the effects of marijuana. Her column centers on how her vaporizer pen has helped her deal with pain and glaucoma.

In “My vape pen and I, a love story,” Goldberg writes about the effects her vape pen has had on her life, helping her deal with her glaucoma. According to Time, she noted that the pen lets her control the THC - marijuana's active ingredient - she uses.

She admitted to using it in states where medicinal and recreational marijuana use is still not legal, although she tries to be secretive about it.

“The vape pen has changed my life. No, I’m not exaggerating,” Goldberg wrote, noting that she’s even given it a name and refers to it as “she.” The View co-host named the vape pen Sippy, “And with each sip comes relief — from pressure, pain, stress, discomfort.”

She explained that her daughter introduced her to the vape pen after she quit smoking two years ago.

“I took a sip. It was beautiful. And my pen and I have been together ever since,” Goldberg wrote.

Colorado is one of two states that has legalized recreational marijuana use. It is also legal in Washington state.
