This past Saturday evening, Willie Nelson was a member of the inaugural class of the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame. Many celebrities, including Oscar winning Matthew McConaughey came out to attend the celebration and honor one of the most famous names in country music.
McConaughey had the pleasure of inducting Nelson into the hall of fame, AP reported.
"There would be no Austin City Limits without Willie Nelson," McConaughey said as he welcomed his friend into the hall of fame. The Oscar winner even found a way to include his signature, "All right, all right, all right."
Nelson, who is about to turn 81 this week, was one of the first Austin City Limits performers in 1974. This is now one of the longest-running television music programs in the U.S. but not everything is going well for Nelson when it comes to being on tour.
AL reported that Nelson recently had to cancel his May 17th concert with Alison Krauss, at the Birmingham's BJCC Arena.
A statement on Krauss' official website explained that due to health concerns for Nelson they had to cancel the show.
"Due to an unforeseen and urgent health concern that requires immediate attention, we have been forced to reschedule and unfortunately cancel a few select shows on the upcoming tour with Willie Nelson. A list of the affected shows, along with makeup dates and ticket refund/exchange policies are listed below. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.”
