Your wedding day is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life. For Xiang Jenfeng, she wanted to make that day last every day… for the last ten years.
According to Yahoo! News, Xiang has been wearing her wedding dress every day since her wedding for the last ten years.
The Daily Mail reported that Xiang said, “My wedding day was the happiest day of my life and I never wanted it to end, and that was when I decided I wanted to not only keep wearing my wedding dress, but actually bought four other wedding dresses as well.”
Apparently, the bride's wedding dress doesn't only symbolize as a reminder of love, but of freedom and joy. At the age of 18, Xiang was kidnapped, sold, and forced to marry an elderly man who used her as a slave for 15 years.
Pakistan Today writes that the woman finally escaped the captivity and ran away to Liujiazhuang village where she met a woman who helped her. The woman then introduced Xiang to her brother, whom she married later in 2004.
The entire situation made Xiang so truly happy that she wants to remember it forever, which is why she had refused to wear anything other than her wedding dress ever since the wedding.
Since the wedding, Xiang has made three more dresses for each season.
“I bought one and made the other three,” she explained. “I had only ever known a violent and abusive man and I avoided men until I met my new partner who brought me truly out of my shell and treated me so differently. I couldn’t believe it when he asked me to marry him.”
Xiang noted that she never wanted her wedding day to end because it really was the happiest day of her life. Her husband has been helping her transition into her new life and live her life of freedom ever since their wedding day.
“We felt comfortable with each other, so we have been together since then. I am very happy now, as my husband is very good for me," said Xiang.
