When music fans start to play the latest album from 7Horse, Songs For A Voodoo Wedding it might catch them off guard, the sound is very unique and feels like a classic rock album from decades past but with a modern twist when it comes to the vocal ranging and background vocals. This is the type of album that when fans complete listening to it, they have to play it again to hear the fine details that the band has worked so hard to place into the album.

Joie Calio and Phil Leavitt are the two members of 7Horse and their musical chemistry is clear throughout the album. The group has been described as a musical experiment and when the duo came together they said on their website, they "bur[ied] their musical past" and got back to the organic roots of rock 'n' roll. That type of willingness to strip down instruments and focus on the main melody can be heard throughout the tracks on Songs For A Voodoo Wedding.

This follow up album to 2011's Let the 7Horse Run, keeps the blues infused rock sound that fans loved and also pushes the musical boundaries by making the lyrics more complex and the vocal arrangement more gritty and blues heavy. From the opening track to the final single, it feels like this is a complete work instead of just individual singles.

The songs blend into the next and feel more like listening to a live concert as opposed to a studio album, which echoes more of the classic rock feel which can be heard on this album.

Stand out tracks on the album include, "On The 4th of July," "Before The Flood" and "Please Come On Home."
