48-year-old Actor Michael Jace has been charged with the fatal shooting of his wife, April. April Jace, 40, was found shot to death in her south Los Angeles home around 8:30 p.m. on Monday.
Police were called to investigate a shooting before they arrived at the couple’s Los Angeles home on Monday evening. TMZ reports that Michael Jace called 911 around 8:30 p.m. and told police, “I shot my wife,” TMZ.
Los Angeles police said in a statement that the incident “is believed to be domestic violence,” LA Times. Jace was detained for questioning Monday night, and was being held Tuesday, May 20, with a bail of $1 million.
Michael Jace is best known for his acting roles in television shows The Shield and Southland. He also starred in the 2009 thriller State of Play. The couple celebrated their 10-year anniversary in June of 2013. They have two young children. In regards to the children, Detective Sal LaBarbera told the LA Times, “At the very least, they heard the shooting,” LA Times.
