Avril Lavigne has been making headlines with her latest music video for the single "Hello Kitty" and the song has finally made its debut on the Billboard hot 100 charts.
Billboard reported that the single debuted at No. 75 following the music video being released on YouTube and Vevo on April 23. The video was soon pulled down from YouTube before being placed back on Lavigne's official YouTube channel.
This is the second time that a song off of her self titled album has hit the charts, the first single "Here's to Never Growing Up" also landed on the Billboard hot 100.
Daily Mail added that Lavigne recently arrived in South America for a few shows on her tour to promote her latest album.
During a red carpet appearance the singer explained that when she was working on the video she did not perceive it to be racist at all. "I spend half of my time in Japan. I flew to Tokyo to shoot this video, specifically for my Japanese fans, WITH my Japanese label, Japanese choreographers AND a Japanese director IN Japan," explained Lavigne.
