Science guy Bill Nye was a guest on CNN’s show Crossfire on Tuesday night and battled with host S.E. Cupp, who accused him of bullying people about climate change.
The environmental advocate was on the show to discuss the National Climate Assessment report, which the White House released hours earlier.
As seen in this CNN video, Nye and the conservative host got off to a rocky start when he interrupted her at the beginning of the segment.
Cupp then accused Nye, along with the Obama administration, of attempting to use “scare tactics” when it came to climate change.
Nye countered by saying that the report is meant to inform the public about the social and economic cost of things like extreme weather and rising sea levels.
The debate showcased more contention between the host and Nye then it did actually citing the report’s findings.
Finally, when the two sides could not agree Cupp said that science guys attempt to bully people.
“Isn’t it a problem when ‘science guys’ attempt to bully other people?” she asked.
