Brad Paisley is about to kick off a tour on Friday and even though the tour doesn't have a name, the country superstar has announced that his upcoming album will be titled Moonshine in the Trunk.
Billboard reported that Paisley didn't want to move forward with naming the tour until after he decided on the name for his tenth studio album.
In a recent interview, Paisley explained that he really wanted to get back to basics when it came to recording this album. "At certain times, your career should be a party. It was a lot of fun this time. We built a bar in our studio house, and it was kind of a 'if you build it, the band will come' approach," said Paisley.
Along with going back to basis for Moonshine in the Trunk, he also incorporated some EDM and modern influences into a classic country music formula. "When you hear a banjo through stutter edit, it's the coolest thing you ever heard," explained the "Whiskey Lullaby" singer. "I have a song that's a basic love song, it's got a great groove, and I cut this guitar part that gets distorted when I turn the nob up. I would say to Luke, 'Oh, that should've been done 20 years ago, but they couldn't.' The rulebook's gone, or was there ever one? They try, but I don't play by it."
The tour is set to kick off on Friday but some scheduled shows are changing. The concert that Paisley has scheduled for Sunday, July 13, at Ak-Chin Pavilion in Phoenix has been canceled due to a scheduling conflict, AZ Central added.
