Bradley Cooper and Todd Phillips are not going to let the failure of the last Hangover movie stop them from working together again. In fact, the two are even creating a new production company and have their first project set.
The production company, which doesn’t have a name yet, has signed a three-year, first look deal with Warner Bros., the studio that distributed the Hangover films, notes Variety.
Their first project will be Arms & the Dudes, which Phillips will direct. However, it’s not clear if Cooper will star in it, though. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jonah Hill did participate in a table read, but didn’t sign on yet.
Arms is based on a Rolling Stone piece written by Guy Lawson and centers on Miami Beach stoners who start selling arms to the U.S. government.
Cooper is currently working with one of Warner Bros.’ favorite directors, Clint Eastwood, on American Sniper. In addition to the Hangover movies, Phillips also made Due Date at Warner Bros.
“Todd and Bradley have deep personal ties throughout the Studio and we couldn’t be more pleased that they are combining their immense talents into what promises to be one formidable production company,” Greg Silverman, President of Creative Development and Worldwide Production at Warner Bros. Pictures, said in a statement. “The entire Warner Bros. family is excited about the great movies we know will come from this collaboration of two highly successful and original filmmakers.”
Phillips is hoping to start Arms this fall.
