A Brooklyn-bound train derailed near a Queens subway station Friday morning in New York City.

According to CBS 2 New York, the F train derailed around 10:30 a.m. and the FDNY rushed to the scene.

There have been some immediate reports of minor injuries due to the derailment.

The New York Daily News reported that a rescue train had been assembled to pick up passengers stranded aboard the F train.

Officials believe hundreds of passengers were traveling on the train. They will be transported to a nearby subway station.

Witnesses captured video of firefighters rescuing some of the passengers by pulling people out of a hatch in the ground.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said that the train that derailed is an eight car train that went off the tracks about 1200 feet south of the local subway station. Trains are running with delays in both directions as a result of the incident.

A full investigation into the derailment will be conducted.
