Actor, Channing Tatum is currently attending the Cannes Film Festival promoting his upcoming wresting drama Foxcatcher which premiered on May 19th but during his many interviews Tatum was asked about his upcoming involvement in the X-Men cinematic universe.

Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo also star in the upcoming film, which has already received rave reviews from critics.

The Wall Street Journal reviewed the film and said that this role for Tatum was a deepening of his acting career.

The Hollywood Reporter sat down with Tatum and asked him about his role as Gambit in X-Men. Tatum explained that talks for him to join the cast were at the "one yard line" and that he was "I'm dying to do it."

Tatum would most likely star as Gamit in the sequel to the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future past. Which will be released nationwide on Friday. The project which is being called X-Men: Apocalypse is already in pre-production. It has also been added that likely Tatum could get his own spin off movie as the character within the X-Men universe.
