The sales forecasts for Coldplay's Ghost Stories is already rising. The latest release from the rock 'n' roll is already on track to sell between 370,000 and 390,000 copies in the week which ended on May 25th.
Billboard reported that if these numbers hold true, this album will pass the current largest selling record of 2014 which was Eric Church's The Outsiders. The Outsiders sold 288,000 units back in the middle of February.
Ghost Stories is likely to end up at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard top 200 album charts. The final announcement regarding album sales will be released on Wednesday.
This would be the fourth chart topping album from the British band. This follows the Mylo Xyloto release back in 2011 which sold over 447,000 copies and the previous No. 1 hit back in 2008 with Viva La Vida Or Death and All His Friends.
Ghost Stories has already topped the U.K. charts selling over 168,000, Reuters added. This is now the fast selling album in the U.K. for 2014.
