Motorola has released the Moto E, a new phone that caters to new smart phone users. The Moto E, at $129, is the most afordable smart phone Motorola has come out with to date.
The phone is designed similar to Motorola’s previous phones, Moto X and Moto G. It is a small plastic phone that contains Gorilla glass to prevent scratches and is also splash safe. The phone only comes in white and in black, but Motorola offers phone cases known as “Motorola Shells” in a variety of colors.
According to Information Week, Moto E has a picture pixel quality that is lower than most smart phones, but outdoes the 800 x 400 picture display of a feature phone. Also while it may only boast 4G of internal memory, it can hold a memory card that has up to 32 G of space.
The phone uses a 200 Snapdragon processor, which is a bit of a downgrade from the Moto G, but it still allows for the basics such as checking emails. However with the great price and qualities the Moto E still outdoes a basic feature phone.
The Moto E is the perfect phone for its target audience, those who haven’t yet made the plunge into the smart phone world and those with lower incomes, according to Ars Technica.
The Moto G was the best-selling smartphone, so there are high hopes for Moto E. Motorola foresees the Moto E as the end to the use of feature phones and fierce competition for other smart phones.
