The first teaser for Big Hero 6, an obscure Marvel Comics property that Disney has picked to turn into an animated film, has hit the web.
Big Hero 6 will be the first film from Disney Animation Studios based on a Marvel property. The studio is hoping that even though Big Hero 6 isn’t as well known as the live action characters, audiences will still want to see the film. After all, Disney Animation has been on an amazing string of success with Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph and Frozen.
The first footage was shown back in May 2013 and was a simple preview of the film’s unique location, San Fransokyo. The new teaser, posted on Yahoo Movies, introduces the main characters - Hiro Hamada and the robot BayMax. Hiro is seen trying to get armor on his robot, but it’s a struggle since the armor is way too small.
Interestingly, it appears that Disney doesn’t want to remind audiences that this is a Marvel property. The Marvel logo is not shown at the beginning of the teaser.
Big Hero 6 is being directed by Winnie The Pooh’s Don Hall and Chris Williams. It hits theaters on Nov. 7.
