Frankie Valli to headline July 4 festivities In D.C.

Frankie Valli is set to headline the "Capitol Fourth" show in Washington D.C. over the July 4th holiday. Valli has been making hit music for over 50 years with songs like "Big Girls Don't Cry" and "Sherry."

AP reported that the event will be taking place at the National Mall and the event has hundreds of thousands of people in attendance. The musical and firework show will also be broadcast nationwide on PBS.

It was Valli's vocals that helped his band The Four Seasons reach a mainstream level when they first performed "Sherry" on the show American Bandstand. The Four Seasons have been inducted into the rock 'n' roll hall of fame.

The groups story will soon be headed to the big screen. A real life adaptation of the musical journey the band has been on. The movie which is titled Jersey Boys and is set for a June 20th release date and is being directed by Clint Eastwood.

Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons are known around the world for their unique musical sound. As a group they have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, Broadway World added.

Valli just celebrated his 80th birthday and is still touring the world.
