Rapper Future has had an impressive first week with sales for his latest album Honest. Honest sold 53,000 units since it was released on April 22nd. The album also debuted on the top spot on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop charts.
Billboard reported that the race for the top spot was very close between Iggy Azalea's The New Classic which sold just under 1,000 units.
The New Classic in total sold 52,000 units.
The release dates for both of these albums were announced back in 2013 and fans have been anticipating both records. Honest was supposed to be released back in Nov. 26 under a different title Future Hendrix but was pushed back until April of 2014.
Featured on Honest include collaborations with Pharrell Williams and Lil' Wayne.
The New York Times added that the soundtrack to Frozen is likely to hit number No. 1 again on the overall albums charts but that Honest will also be making a strong debut on the charts.
