Gerard Butler will not be starring in the upcoming Point Break remake after all as he has just dropped out of the project.
According to sources who spokes exclusively with The Hollywood Reporter, the move was both because of scheduling conflicts and creative differences. The first issue seems to be the major sticking point as production would have interfered with filming for London Has Fallen.
Filming for Point Break was scheduled to take a few months, beginning towards the end of June, and is set to be done at several locations across the world, directly conflicting with a set fall shoot for Fallen.
Sources say that despite losing the film's Bodhi, originally played by Patrick Swayze, Alcon continues to move forward and will begin searching for someone to star opposite Luke Bracey's Johnny Utah.
Late last week, a release date for Focus Features' London Has Fallen was scheduled for an Oct. 2, 2015 date. The first film, Olympus Has Fallen surprised at the box office, grossing $161 million worldwide.
