Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy is considering having Lea Michele to star in a Broadway revival of Funny Girl.
According to TheWrap, Murphy is contemplating creating a Broadway revival of Funny Girl and casting Michele in the lead role. Funny Girl is the iconic Barbara Streisand musical and currently on Glee, Michele's character Rachel Berry is starring in a fictional form of Funny Girl. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Murphy said, "I have the rights to it. It's something that we're talking about. I've never done Broadway. I've always wanted to."
However, for now Murphy and Michele are focusing on the upcoming final season of Glee. Last year, Glee was renewed for two more seasons. Michele told E Online how she enjoyed filming Glee's sixth season, even though the season started off rough. Michele notes, "It was a really wonderful season. You know things were really difficult at the beginning of the year, but I'm so thankful for my cast and my amazing crew."
