On Tuesday, General Motors issued a new recall for more than 2.4 million vehicles in the United States due to several separate safety problems.

According to NBC News, the cars being recalled are the Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia, from the model years 2009-2014. The Cadillac Escalades, Chevrolet Silverado pickup trucks and GMC Sierras from the model year 2015 and Chevrolet Malibu models from 2004-2008 are also part of the recall.

CNN noted that some of the vehicles have had problems with the front safety belts. GM said that the belts can become worn over time and actually separate from the car during a crash.

Other issues with the automobiles being recalled include electrical problems in the engines and the possibility of the front passenger-side airbags not deflating properly.

The company said that the latest recall is "a continuing effort to quickly address emerging safety issues."

So far this year, GM has recalled over 15 million vehicles worldwide for various safety concerns
