Godzilla will be opening on Thursday and nationwide on Friday and the film is looking to open with some impressive numbers. Early predictions are saying that the movie could make over $65 million in its North American debut.

Godzilla was rebooted by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Both studios are hoping for a franchise possibility with this popular character. Legendary financed 75 percent of the film and Warner Bros. picked up the rest of the budget, The Hollywood Reporter added.

Along with opening in North America, the film will also be opening in over 60 international markets this weekend.

Early reviews of the film have been favorable but express that the true star of the film is Godzilla and that the directorial style of the movie stands out, USA Today added.

Director Gareth Edwards' Godzilla has said in many interviews that this goal with the project was to remain true to the iconic Japanese Godzilla movies made by Japan's Toho studio.

Godzilla stars Ken Watanabe, Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
