Gregg Allman has dropped a lawsuit that he filled against the film production of Midnight Rider. He filed a lawsuit following the death of camera assistant Sarah Jones on the project. Following her death, Allman asked director Randall Miller to stop production.
Entertainment Weekly added that the lawsuit will be settled through out-of-court agreement in the aftermath of Jones death.
AP reported that on Tuesday Allman and film director Randall Miller’s production company Unclaimed Freight Productions appeared in a Savannah court.
The attorneys told the judge that they had reached an agreement just one day after Miller testified in court regarding the accident.
The lawsuit was filled in Savannah, Ga. against the two production companies that have been working on the project, Unclaimed Freight Prods. and Allman LLC. The suit alleges that the films rights to Allman's life story have expired.
The terms of the option included that principal photography needed to have been underway by Feb. 28th.
