While it is no secret that Harrison Ford will be returning for J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII, but it has been unclear just how big of a role Ford will be playing in the blockbuster. Well, if the actor himself, is to be believed, he will be a co-lead.

In Entertainment Weekly, several sources revealed that Ford will not just be a supporting character, but will be one of the leads alongside John Boyega, Daisy Ridley and a yet-to-be-cast major female character, as noted a couple weeks ago.

Also worth noting, but already confirmed, is that Ford is joining Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher who are returning to their roles in the series. But this has been in the works even before Lucasfilm was sold to Disney, as George Lucas met individually with all three before he sold the company. Fisher and Hamill are just considered strong supporting roles in the film, however.

Also included in the article are some humorous quotes from the actor himself, including calling his character dumb as a stump.

Rumored to be titled An Ancient Fear, the film, at this date and time, is supposed to be released in theaters December 18, 2015. Though, Abrams has made it no secret that he would like to have that date pushed back to 2016 to allow more ample time with the project. Whether or not he gets his wish, expect to see a new Star Wars movie in the near future.
