Hillary Clinton has booked an interview on Fox News, despite the network’s constant criticism of the State Department’s handling of the December 2012 Benghazi attack. Still, this is an opportunity for Clinton to sell books and for Fox News to get a ratings boost.
The former Secretary of State, First Lady and New York Senator will be interviewed by Greta Van Susteren and Bret Baier, the network announced on Thursday. The interview will air on June 17, beginning at 6:45 p.m. during Special Report and continuing into On The Record through 7:15 p.m.
The interview is timed to the release of Clinton’s new book Hard Choices, which will center on her time at the State Department under President Barack Obama. It is set to be released on June 10.
Fox News also specifically notes that she will talk about the 2012 attacks on a U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi. That is still a big topic in Washington, with the House recently setting up a special committee to investigate. Current Secretary of State John Kerry has agreed to testify.
It’s not known what else Van Susteren and Baier will ask Clinton about, but perhaps they’ll bring up that infamous Super Bowl tweet that was supposed to be a joke. They’ll probably also try to ask about the 2016 election.
