Joaquin Phoenix, one of the finest actors working today, will finally get a chance to star in a Woody Allen movie. The Oscar nominee has been cast in the auteur’s 2015 film.

Allen makes a movie a year and has already completed work on his 2014 movie, which will follow the successful Blue Jasmine with Cate Blanchett. That film is called Magic in the Moonlight and will be released by Sony Pictures Classics, which has a long relationship with the director. Magic is set in the 1920s and features Emma Stone, Colin Firth and Marcia Gay Harden.

Deadline reported that Phoenix will star in the the Annie Hall director's 2015 film, which could go in front of the cameras as soon as July. There is no plot details or any further information on the project.

Phoenix just finished making Inherent Vice with his The Master director Paul Thomas Anderson. That film will open in December. The actor also gave an acclaimed performance in Spike Jonze’s Her in 2013.

Phoenix has three Oscar nominations on his resume for Gladiator, Walk The Line and The Master.
