Jon M. Chu’s live-action version of the upcoming Jem and the Holograms has cast two of its leading ladies. Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis have signed onto the film.

It is not yet clear what roles Ringwald and Lewis will be having in the film. Director Chu is known for his work on films such as G.I. Joe: Retaliation and Step Up 3D.

Variety reported this will be a live-action remake of the very popular Hasbro cartoon with the same title.

Ringwald broke the news on her Twitter account. Expressing that she was excited that she could finally talk about her role in the upcoming film and tweeted out a picture with her co-star.

Metro added that Lewis is known for her acting skills but she also has a background in music. She used to be the front woman for the band Juliette and the Licks before going solo in 2009.
