Katie Couric says that she is not returning to the Today Show.

According to The Wrap during a CNN interview with Bill Weir,Couric said she isn't rejoining the Today Show. Reports had surfaced saying that Couric was heading back to Today as a replacement for Savannah Guthrie who is pregnant and will soon be leaving for maternity leave. Couric noted, "I miss the gang, I had a wonderful 15 year run at the ‘Today’ show and you know, I'm still in touch with them. They'll always have a special place in my heart." Last November, Couric left ABC News to sign a deal working for Yahoo in a new role.

In a interview with the New York Times, NBC News president Deborah Turness said that while Guthrie is out on maternity leave the Today Show will use the anchors that they already have to fill in her spot. Turness says, "While she’s with her newborn we’ll keep that momentum going with our own homegrown talent with perhaps a few surprises mixed in."
