Country singer, LeAnn Rimes, is set to perform the National Anthem at the upcoming Indy 500.

Billboardreported that Rimes would be taking the stage during the pre-race ceremonies at what will be the 98th running on the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 25. The event will be taking place at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Rimes spoke out about what an honor it is to be asked to perform the anthem during such a national event. "To sing the national anthem at one of the most prestigious racing events is truly an honor. The adrenaline at the Speedway is felt around the world and I know I am one of millions who is so excited to hear those six legendary words 'ladies and gentlemen, start your engines," said Rimes.

Buckeye Country reported that Jason Aldean will also be performing during the Indy 500. He will be performing as the main headliner for the Legends Day concert Saturday night.

Rimes is known for her country music including her breakout album, Blue but the singer is now moving towards a pop music career with her latest album that is set to come out in June 2014. The album is titled Dance Like You Don't Give A….. The album will feature many dance remixes.
