Liam Neeson to become a monster in Patrick Ness adaptation

Even at 61 years old, actor Liam Neeson has shown no signs of slowing down, and today, he has added another film to his resume.

Screen Daily reveals that Neeson was cast as the titular monster in A Monster Calls, an adaptation of the book by Patrick Ness. Directed by Juan Antonio Bayona, the film also has cast Felicity Jones to play the mother of the 13-year-old protagonist.

At the moment, it is unclear whether Neeson's role will be strictly voiced or motion captured. But, having already performed two vocal-only performances this year alone with The Nut Job and The Lego Movie, it doesn't seem like the role will be too much of a stretch for the actor to handle.

Plans are the shoot the film in September to secure an October 2016 release, according to Examiner.com. Distributing the film will be Focus Features and producing is Belen Atienza (Pan's Labyrinth).

In addition to the film mentioned above, Neeson has also starred in Non-Stop earlier this year, and will later be seen in A Million Ways to Die in the West at the end of the month. He is currently shooting Taken 3 and will then move on to Martin Scorsese's Silence.
