Lindsey Stirling turned the classical music industry upside down when she used her incredible violin skills. Stirling took modern pop classics and added her violin and made them classically infused, YouTube videos that gained thousands of views overnight.
Her second album Shatter Me, was released on Tuesday, April 29 and is expected to debut at No. 2 on the Billboard charts according to industry forecasters, Billboard reported. The album is expected to sell anywhere from 50,000 to 70,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, May 4.
If this album sells over 50,000 copies, it would be the largest sales week for Stirling.
Stirling released her first album independently back in 2012 and the record sold 321,000 copies since it was released. Her debut spent 37 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Classical Crossover Albums chart.
USA Today added that the album will feature two vocal tracks including Halestorm's Lizzy Hall on one of the main vocal tracks.
Even though Stirling is likely to take the number two spot on the charts, the soundtrack to Frozen will likely nab a 13th week on top of the album charts.
