It’s been almost two months since the fateful day Malaysian Airlines flight 370 went missing and a preliminary report released by Malaysia's Transportation Ministry on Thursday reveals that there’s a four-hour gap before an official search even began.
It can be said those four hours could’ve been crucial in search efforts, but for some unexplained reason, officials waited to start search efforts on the flight heading from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Beijing.
USA Today reports when the search did commence, it was a rigorous one. Twenty countries, hundreds of ships and planes were involved but the plane still hasn’t been found.
Malaysia Airlines is now urging the relatives of those 239 passengers to return home and await any new updates from “the comfort of their own homes.”
"Instead of staying in hotels, the families of MH370 are advised to receive information updates on the progress of the search and investigation and other support by Malaysia Airlines within the comfort of their own homes, with the support and care of their families and friends," reads a statement on their website.
