A man was allegedly shot and killed over a parking space dispute in Queens on Monday night.

According to NBC4, authorities have said that Darrell Lynch was fatally shot after he got into an argument with another man over a parking spot.

Lynch was walking with his mother to his car when he was approached by a man who shot him and then fled.

The New York Daily News noted that the 24-year-old was hit in the leg and pulled out his own pistol to fire back, but dropped it. His mother then picked up the gun and fired at the assailant.

No one else was hit during the shooting.

Police said that the mother and son got into Lynch’s vehicle and attempted to drive to the hospital, however, the victim lost consciousness and crashed into two parked cars. He died a short time later.

Lynch’s mother told investigators that her son was gunned down after he got into an argument with someone earlier that day over a parking spot.

The NYPD does not have any suspects in custody at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
