While Adam Levine is busy building his career as an actor and TV star, his group, Maroon 5, is about to release a new album. The group announced a new record deal and plans to put their fifth album out this fall.

The group signed to Interscope Records for the new record, their first since 2012’s Overexposed. Simply titled V, the record will be out on Sept. 2, 2014. The first single will be released this summer.

V was recorded in Los Angeles with producers Max Martin, Benny Blanco, Ryan Tedder, Shellback and Sam Martin. Keyboardist Jesse Carmichael re-joined the band on these sessions after taking a break during the Overexposed recording.

While Maroon 5 isn’t recording, singer Adam Levine is busy as one of the permanent judges on The Voice, along with Blake Shelton. He also appears in the Mark Ruffalo/Keira Knightley film Begin Again.

Overexposed featured the hits “Payphone” and “Love Somebody.” The album peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. The group has won three Grammy Awards.
