RnB and Hip-hop hit makers Ne-Yo and Jermaine Dupri have had their moments of competing for coveted awards, but this time around their guaranteed a trophy. Billboard reported that the ASCAP will be presenting the Grammy winners with the Founders Award and Golden Note Award, respectively at the 27th annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards.

Ne-Yo writing repertoire includes #1 singles by Beyoncé, Rihanna and himself. Jermaine Durpi co-wrote and produced the biggest song of the 2000’s “We Belong Together” by Mariah Carey, as well as a few dozen other hits.
The ASCAP president Paul Williams praised Dupri by stating “For over two decades, Jermaine has consistently provided the world with hit after hit after hit, many of which we already know as classics,”. He later complemented Ne-Yo by saying ““We can’t think of anyone else more deserving of this award based on the extraordinary career milestones we’ve seen him achieve through the years.”
