Rock band Neon Trees earned their first number one debut on the Billboard rock charts with their album Pop Psychology and the group also earned their highest spot on the overall album charts with the album debuting in the No. 6 position.

The bands third studio album goes above it's previous release Picture Show which reached the No. 9 position on the charts back in 2012, Billboard reported.

The success and high album sales for Pop Psychology has been fueled by the success of their lead off single "Sleeping With A Friend." The music video for the single has already reached almost two million views on YouTube.

Tyler Glenn, the frontman for the group described the album in a unique way in a recent interview with Billboard saying that it was "identity crisis and figuring out who I am and finding love."

NPR also spoke with Glenn recently and he describe what the process was like recording the album, what it was like working with these new musical sounds and that music has really saved Glenn on a personal level.

"Music, 100 percent, has never failed me. And I don't mean monetarily, or success on a chart — I mean it's just always been there for me. It's helped me say things without being too explicit, but I can get them off my chest," said Glenn.
