On Monday, a court denied the Ohio teen who shot and killed several students in 2012 at Chardon High School.
Thomas "T.J." Lane, who killed three students and injured three others in a school shooting, had appealed his sentence of life without parole because he was not yet an adult at the time, reports WKYC. He is now 19.
The 11th District Court of Appeals denied the appeal after listening to oral arguments back in March. The three-person panel's decision was written by Judge Cynthia Westcott Rice and she wrote that "we cannot agree with appellant's argument that this case is not sufficiently serious to warrant consecutive sentences. Appellant did not act on impulse, on provocation, or under pressure ... To the contrary, he planned this attack weeks in advance."
The court unanimously agreed that three consecutive life sentences for the murders of Danny Parkmertor, Demetrius Hewlin and Russell King Jr. According to The Associated Press, the appeals court felt Lane "brought indescribable pain, grief, and lifelong tragedy to the victims' families."
When he was originally sentenced, Lane wore a shirt that said "killer" on the front while in court.
