Sir Paul McCartney has been forced to postpone a show in Tokyo due to an illness. The former Beatle, who is promoting his new album NEW, has rescheduled to show for Monday.

McCartney was supposed to perform at the National Stadium in Tokyo today, but told his fans on his site that the show had to be rescheduled.

“Thank you for such a beautiful and warm welcome to your country. I've unfortunately had to postpone tonight’s show in Tokyo,” McCartney said in the letter. He said that he came down with a virus yesterday and his doctor told him not to perform today.

“I am very sorry to all my fans as I was greatly looking forward to the concert, but the situation is out of my hands,” the “Band on the Run” singer added.

McCartney and his doctors are hoping that he can perform on Sunday. He will perform Saturday night’s show on Monday night.

Although McCartney was not feeling well, he was still able to release a video for the latest single from NEW, “Appreciate.” The video, created with Microsoft, features McCartney interacting with the Newman robot. Clearly, even though McCartney may be best known for music created decades ago, he’s fully embraced technology.

McCartney’s NEW also includes the title track and “Queenie Eye.” He will be returning to the U.S. in June.
