Peter Gabriel has canceled a recent concert appearance in the Ukraine over security concerns. The concert was going to be taking place tomorrow at in Kiev.
The Hollywood Reporter added that the main reasons surrounding the cancellation included political turmoil that is escalating in the Ukraine.
An official statement on behalf of Gabriel was posted on his main website. The statement explained in detail the reasons behind the cancelation. "Due to the on-going unrest in Ukraine it has become clear that the security of the touring personnel and equipment cannot be guaranteed during the planned visit to the country and this has presented us with significant logistical difficulties that we have been unable to resolve."
For fans that had already purchased tickets to the event they will be refunded their money and sent a DVD of Gabriel's "Back to Front" tour.
With the ongoing political turmoil and fears increasing, Gabriel is not the first artist to cancel their show at Kiev. Last February, Depeche Mode canceled their concert at the same location.
