Pharrell performed at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on May 1. Pharrell earned the innovator award for his contributions to music at awards ceremony at the Shrine Auditorium.

Pharrell said, "I never dreamt in a million, million, million years as a producer that I would be standing here as an artist," the 41-year-old told the crowd Thursday at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. "All I did was write the songs and you guys did all the heavy lifting, all the hard work," according to the Associated Press.

At the first annual iHeartRadio Music Awards, Pharrell performed, “Happy” and “Come Get it Bae,” according to Hollywood Life.

Other recording artists to take home awards from the iHeartRadio Music Awards included Blake Shelton for country song of the year and Rihanna for Best Fan Army Award. Rihanna actually took a total of four awards including the coveted Artist of the Year. Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, Lionel Richie and Gwen Stefani appeared at the awards.
