Police in Clearwater Beach, Florida have charged four people in connection with a series of shootings on Memorial Day that left two people injured.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, authorities originally took eight people into custody after the incident. On Tuesday, they announced that charges were being brought against four of those individuals.
Those in custody include Jerry L. Holmes, 31, Terrance Antonio Kirnes, 20, Jeffrey J. Grier, 20 and Jared Kashon Woodard, 19.
WTSP reported that three shootings occurred at a Hyatt Regency Hotel. The first shooting happened outside the hotel after a verbal altercation escalated and someone fired a weapon. The second, happened in the parking garage of the hotel and the third took place on a nearby street a few minutes later.
One of the victims was taken to a hospital and treated for gunshot wound to the groin area. That person’s identity has not been released. The other victim is believed to have been shot in the hand, but fled the scene before police arrived.
