Reese Witherspoon's latest movie Wild will be released on December 5th, which is a primetime spot for Oscar consideration.
Variety reported that Dallas Buyers Club director Jean-Marc Vallee has been working on this drama which is based off of Chery Strayed best selling memoir of the same title.
The movie will follow the story that was told in the novel which features Strayed's 1,000-mile hike alone that took place on the Pacific Crest Trail. She went on this personal journey following years of destructive behavior after going through a divorce and the death of her mother.
Witherspoon, who will be playing the role of Strayed, was brought on to the project in July when Fox Searchlight acquired rights to Nick Hornby’s adaptation of Strayed’s New York Times bestseller.
